Change of hair style

Today I’m gonna talk to you about hair extensions, Beyoncé and Rihanna’s secret ingredient to always look so fabulous with a totally different hair style at each of their public appearances. You can really metamorphose with these and do crazy hair styles. Unfortunately it can be really expensive but I found the perfect balance between cheap and qualitative products: Addict Hair, a South based company (delivery everywhere in France), is a hair extensions specialist and sell affordable and 100% natural products. Additionally, they give you personal advices of how to chose the best shade from a wide range and provide lots of useful tutorial of how to put the extensions. It has a clip which make it very easy to use. You can of course chose your exact hair color, or like I did, a lighter one to create a tie and dye effect. I’m only wearing one band so if you have short hair and want them long, you need to purchase the “tri-brand” for a perfect and natural result. I also tried the clip-fringe, very easy to use but you need to adjust it to your face and might have to cut it at some point. Just ask a hair dresser or your mom! I am bad at creating hair styles so fortunately Julia (who can do pretty much everything) made me this beautiful fish tail.

Aujourd’hui je vais vous parler d’extensions, l’ingrédient secret (ou pas) de Beyoncé et Rihanna pour avoir l’air toujours sensationnelles avec une coupe de  cheveux complètement différente à chacune de leurs apparitions. Vous pouvez réellement vous métamorphoser avec des rajouts et réaliser des coiffures délirantes. Malheureusement cela coute très cher mais j’ai trouvé le bon compromis avec des produits de qualité pour un prix imbattable: Addict Hair, une entreprise basée dans le sud (livre partout en France), est un spécialiste d’extensions capillaires et propose des produits abordables et 100% naturels. Une équipe est à votre écoute toute la journée pour vous procurer un service client optimum, des conseils personnalisés pour choisir votre teinte parmi une large palette et pleins de tutoriels pratiques pour vous expliquer comment utiliser vos extensions. Elles se posent très simplement avec des barrettes à clip intégrées. Vous pouvez bien sûr choisir votre couleur de cheveux exacte ou faire comme moi et opter pour un ton plus clair pour créer un effet tie and dye. Je porte seulement une bande donc si vous avez les cheveux courts et que vous souhaitez plus de longueur, vous devrez choisir le “tri-band” pour un résultat parfaitement naturel. Is it cool to wear a Scrunchie ?

The other day we had a moment of truce in Paris : the rain stopped for while and finally let the sunshine in. What a bless! I took advantage of the light to show off my last purchase and raise a serious debate: Is it cool to wear a Scrunchie? Or some trends are just not supposed to resurface? I can’t stop thinking about that episode of Sex and the City when Carrie has a serious fight with her boyfriend (the writer) because she made fun of the scrunchie he mentioned in his book. Carrie, this post is for you! I bought one at American Apparel and it ain’t so bad in black don’t you think?

In this post I also wanted to feature the cool brand of handmade sneakers made in Croatia, Startas. It originally comes from Ex-Yugoslavia (1976) and was the official sponsor of the Olympic games of Zagreb in 1987. During the war, the city where the factory was implemented was bombed so they had to stop the production for a while. Fortunately, the brand came back to life thanks to the designer ital-croatian Mauro Massarotto in 2008 and arrived in France a year ago. A friend of mine bought a pair last year and I was already seduced by the originality of the prints and the little bow. So when I heard that they had a pop-up store in le Marais, I wanted to get my pair! They didn’t have my size anymore but they must have seen the desperation on my face (I can’t get pretty obsessive when I want something) because they made few phone calls and found me a 39. Yippee!

Dimanche dernier nous avons eu un moment de répit à Paris: la pluie s’est arrêtée pendant un instant pour laisser enfin le soleil entrer. Quel soulagement! J’ai profité de ces quelques rayons de lumière pour présenter ma dernière trouvaille et  lever un débat très sérieux: Est-ce cool de porter un Chouchou? Ou certaines tendances ne sont juste pas censées refaire surface? Je ne peux m’empêcher de penser à cet épisode de Sex and the City: Carrie se dispute avec Berger, l’écrivain, à propos d’un chouchou qu’il mentionnait dans son roman. Carrie, cet article est pour toi! J’en ai trouvé un chez American Apparel et ce n’est pas si mal vous ne trouvez pas?

Je profite aussi de cet article pour présenter la marque de baskets super cool et faites à la main en Croatie, Startas. A l’origine, ces baskets viennent d’Ex-Yougoslavie  (1976)  et furent le sponsor officiel des jeux Olympiques de Zagreb en 1987. Pink and cropped

When I laid my eyes on this top from Zara I fell instantly in ❤ ! Yes that’s what it’s like to be a fashion freak ! You get so superficial sometimes and create needs from absolutely nothing but a piece of clothing ! But even so I love fashion, I am conscious of the reality of the business. Truth is, I have been “avoiding” fast fashion brands (it doesn’t look like it I know) lately and I am always looking where the garment was made. It is my way of being “conscious” of who made my clothes. Last year on April, 24th, the Rana Plaza factory collapsed in Dhaka, Bangladesh and destroyed the life of many happy families. “Social and environmental catastrophes in our fashion supply chains continue. Fashion Revolution Day says enough is enough.” Please take a minute to watch this interactive documentary: “The shirt on your back“. I am not saying I am a good example but I try to be aware of the consequences of my buying habits and I am willing to make things improve.

I am still wearing my beloved MySuelly bag that I found during another Violette Sauvage event (don’t miss the next one on May, 3rd at Carreau du Temple, it’s gonna be HUGE) and I’m actually amazed with their new collection which is perfection! I found my necklace at Zara as well which reminds me a lot of the Chanel so much better and unfordable version. My socks are pink to match my top because pink is THE color of the year, remember?

Lorsque j’ai posé mes yeux sur ce haut chez Zara, je suis tout de suite tombée en amour! Oui c’est à ça que ressemble la vie d’une vraie fashion freak! Tu deviens soudain très superficielle et tu te crées des besoins à partir d’un simple vêtement! Mais bien que j’aime la mode passionnément, je suis consciente de la réalité de cette industrie. A dire vraie j’essaye d’éviter les marques de fast fashion ces derniers temps (je sais on ne dirait pas) et je regarde toujours où l’article a été fabriqué. C’est ma façon d’être “consciente” d’où viennent mes vêtements. Il y a un an, le 24 avril, l’usine Rana Plaza au Bangladesh s’est effondrée et a laissé de nombreuses familles détruites. Les catastrophes sociales et environnementales liées aux chaines de production de textile continuent de se produire. Fashion Revolution Day dit assez! Prenez quelques minutes pour regarder ce documentaire interactif: “The shirt on your back“. Je ne prétends pas être un bon exemple mais j’essaye de me tenir informer sur les conséquences de mes habitudes d’achat et je suis motivée à faire évoluer les choses.

Je porte toujours mon sac fétiche de la marque MySuelly déniché lors d’un évènement Violette Sauvage (ne manquez surtout pas le prochain qui aura lieu le 3 mai au Carreau du temple, ça va être gigantesque) et je suis d’ailleurs émerveillée par leur nouvelle collection qui est tout simplement parfaite! Mon collier vient aussi de chez Zara et me fait penser à celui beaucoup plus beau et inaccessible vu sur le défilé Chanel de cet été. Mes chaussettes roses sont assorties à mon haut car c’est bel et bien LA couleur du moment, remember?

Sunny Sunday

It happens in Paris that it is not always raining but now and then, the sun comes out and might actually shine for several days in a row. During those rare and exceptional moments, you must go out and enjoy the sun like a blessing, a reward for the long waiting months of previous shitty weather. Paris suddenly bursts and you realize how many people actually live inside the city (and in the near areas). It becomes a true hive of activity and suddenly you starts regretting those times when you were almost walking “alone” in the streets, may it rain! You are all aware of the high pollution state we reached last week. It was everywhere in the news, the city was compared to Shanghai and some quick measures were taken before the elections (happening today) to show the good example: free public transports for 4 days and one day of alternating traffic. What an environmental breakthrough! Anyway, my friend and I decided to meet for a picnic at Champs de Mars, just by the Eiffel Tower because sometimes we forget that we actually live in a wonderfully rich city, just thinking about the architecture and history. I love the Eiffel Tower, every time I see it I get sentimental! I just got a new bike (because the last one got stolen) and a brand new pair of Swedish Hasbeens clogs and I thought it was the perfect day to take them out for a ride (not particularly comfortable to bike with those but never mind!) The jacket/teddy/bomber, however you want to call it, is an unexpected finding from Bershka in Berlin. It was so incredibly on sale that I felt obligated to buy it. Plus I’ve always wanted a cool teddy. And it says “Junior” in the back. And it is my favorite color! The t-shirt and jeans are from Top Shop in Israel (shopping is always part of my travels!). I love the high-waisted/90’s style of the MOM jeans. You might have recognized the velvet sunnies from previous post, the perfect pair of Italian sunglasses I found during my exchange study in Rome (good times). And the cute little socks are from H&M. Always wearing socks with my clogs!
